As a London based Freemason's Lodge the Ulster Lodge falls under the local administration of the Metropolian Grand Lodge of London (MetGL). MetGL is responsible for all lodges that meet within a 10 mile radius of Freemasons' Hall and currently there are more than 40,000 freemasons in London. Based at Freemasons' Hall in covent Garden, MetGL encourages and supports the work carried out by Freemasons in London, which raise significant funds for many charitable and worthy causes. The United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) is the governing body for all freemason lodges in England, Wales the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. There are over 250,000 members and over 8,000 Lodges under its jurisdiction. MetGL administers just one area of UGLE's reach, there are a further 47 provinces. In addition there are a number of overseas districts across the globe such as Cyprus, Hong Kong, Zambia, Bermuda or New Zealand. Additional information can be found on the UGLE website.

Both of the above bodies control and administer lodges such as the Ulster Lodge, providing rules and regulations on how the Lodge should be run and publishing information for anyone interested in becoming a Freemason.

Built in 1933, Freemason's Hall is a grade two listed, art-deco building in central london. The Hall is open to the public for tours, futher information can be found on the library and museum website.
